To celebrate the 25th birthday of the humble gif, I curated a project which exists as a growing, festive showcase of animated gifs designed by an international group of illustrators, animators and directors. I collaborated with friends, Enjoythis to create an online platform for the project and invited some super talented folk to take part and help spread the christmas spirit far and wide. Here is are sneak peek of the site and my own offering to the festivities.
Beautiful experiments from ‘Memphis: Research, Experiences, Results, Failures and Successes of New Design’ By Barbara Radice.
Our thoughts are with you NY!
I had to scan in these beauties (a few of many) from a children’s activities book I picked up recently from the Treptower flea market in Berlin.
The latest addition to my reading list is The Paradoxicon by Nicholas Falletta, a thorough catalogue of different types of paradoxes; logical, philosophical, mathematic, scientific. Interested to see how useful it is.
I was invited to Zurich by OgilvyOne to paint a wall mural to adorn a feature wall in their studio. A stop-frame film was also made by Benjamin Franken to record the process featuring music by Erol Alkan & Boysnoize.
To coincide with the Milan Furniture Fair, I was commissioned by YCN to produce a series of ‘Bright Ideas’ for GAP’s flagship store. The artwork became part of a kinetic sculpture, instore graphics and a limited edition run of T shirt designs . I collaborated with the talented folk at OKAY studio who designed and engineered a series of kinetic sculptures including an ‘ideas machine’ which formed a huge moving window display at the front of the store.
